Editing: Transitions

transition
tranˈzɪʃ(ə)n,trɑːn-,-ˈsɪʃ-/
noun
  1. 1
the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another.
"students in transition from one programme to another"

Our group decided to use transitions in our thriller opening because we wanted to try out new editing skills and we thought it would make our film stand out more and look more catchy. We used transitions such as cross dissolves which helped our shots move on well and smoothly so whoever is watching will not notice the transition. This was also used on our titles, we used fade which would make the titles appear as if they were being typed. This helped make our opening look more personal and as if someone was there typing the names.
